TRAINING

Dr. Allen graduated from New York University School of Medicine.  She completed her residency training in psychiatry at Albert Einstein College of Medicine/Montefiore Medical Center, where she was appointed Chief Resident.  She completed additional fellowship training in Consultation Liaison Psychiatry at Columbia University Irving Medical Center/New York Presbyterian Hospital, specializing in the treatment of patients with co-occurring general medical and mental health conditions.  Dr. Allen has experience working in emergency psychiatry settings, in inpatient medical units, and in the outpatient setting.  Dr. Allen is an Assistant Professor of Psychiatry at Columbia University Irving Medical Center, where she trained and worked for five years, focusing on women's mental health throughout life, including during the perinatal period.

APPROACH

Dr. Allen takes a warm, collaborative, and personalized approach to mental health care, devoting the time needed to clarify goals and develop effective, evidence based treatment approaches.
